Gender Audit
The gender audit aims to encourage political party leaders, men and women alike, party activists, party members, journalists, researchers, civil society organisations and other interested individuals or organisations to assess how gender sensitive a political party is.
GENDER AUDIT TOOL BY ODIHR
The ODIHR gender audit methodology for political parties consists of a set of questions intended to help identify the level of gender equality in political party structures, processes, procedures, and formal and informal practices. The results produced can support political parties in identifying their strengths and areas of development as well as provide good practices from all over the OSCE region to enhance gender equality. They can serve as a roadmap for development of gender equality within the party.
ODIHR developed the comprehensive gender audit methodology for political parties to increase women’s political participation in the framework of the ‘Strengthening Women’s Participation in Political Parties in the OSCE Region’ project, aiming to “build the capacity of OSCE institutions, political party leaderships, women leaders and gender advocates to develop systematic approaches to the advancement of women’s political participation and gender equality within political parties”.
